Who We Are
MN Youth Fishing Org is a 501c3 non-profit and charitable organization founded in 2020 in order to publicly support, increase awareness, and assist in the growth of organized youth fishing in the State of MN. Our goal is to provide more opportunities for youth angling in MN. We strive to make competitive youth angling more equitable, and available to a wider student population.
What We Do & How We Do It
During the fishing season the organization will hold youth fishing events to introduce more anglers to the sport of competitive fishing. We look to increase knowledge and introduce conservation best practices to all youth. Our goal is to introduce youth anglers to the sport of of competitive bass fishing, whether they currently belong to a team or not. Via donation & fundraising, we are able to cover the cost of permits, insurance, prizes & trophies, tech fees, and other expenses associated with running the program and helping to further our mission.
2026 Wednesday Night Derby Schedule

*Youth Events; Anglers 14 & Under Only. Must have 18+ Boat Captain. All tournaments will be virtual on the Reel Livewell mobile app. Limit of best seven (7) bass will sort on leaderboard. Registration will open four (4) and close one (1) week (unless max boats reached) ahead of each event. Instructions on how to download/use the app will be sent upon registration.

**TBF SANCTIONED SERIES**
All anglers MUST be TBF members. MUST fish as Teams to participate in points. Our circuit will advance one (1) team for every twenty (20) that are entered to the TBF Junior World Championship in 2027. Must be graduated 7th grade (going into 8th grade) or less to be eligible. The circuit will take the team’s top seven (7) out of twelve (12) events to accumulate the point total for the season. In order to advance from the circuit to JWC by points, teams must also fish the TBF Junior State Championships. Click the button below for more info.
